Easily forgotten as I don't post that much now . Always enjoy your posts too.
there are a lot of interesting people that frequent this site.. sometimes, we get an idea of what the posters are really like in "real life".
and i'm sure i could be easily surprised by some that you think might be strong personalities because of their board presence, and in reality, they might be shy in a face to face setting.. i would enjoy meeting simon.
simon used to be terribly annoyed by my posting and now i think he's accepted with tolerance my being here.. farkel seems like a grouchy cantankerous fellow but i think he'd be very interesting company!.

florida man kills door-to-door salesman: ill kill anybody that steps on my propertya man in cape coral, florida on wednesday was arrested for shooting and killing an unarmed door-to-door salesman on his property.. kenneth bailey roop, 52, has been charged with second-degree murder for killing 30-year-old nicholas rainey.. a co-worker who witnessed the shooting said rainey had knocked on roops door, but received no answer.
while rainey was walking down the drive-way, roop pulled up in his pickup truck and asked why rainey was at his house.
Is there really any excuse for shooting and unarmed man then shooting him again in the head when he is already down? All the guy was doing was trying to sell fish. Threatening him with a gun would have been more than sufficient. Did the killer think the fish man would outdraw him with a smoked kipper? Even gladiators have rules of combat!

"The shooter is going to go to prison for life - that really was a 2nd Degree murder."
Yep! He won't be keeping people of his property in prison. They will be taking turns to jump on his back. Happy humping days ahead.
from the time i was a kid i knew something wasn't quite right about jehovah's witnesses.
most of the family on my mom's side are still in.
i'm treated reasonably decent by them due to the fact that i was never baptized.
Your opening question proposes an assumption that is not founded in reality.

change with each life, therefore how does this allow.
“Lulz. Someone once "read" me and said I was formerly a legionary.”
I can believe that. You have blunted my gladius once or twice.

"Recently I've visited a Tibetan Buddhist temple a couple of times. It is very interesting, and surprisingly similar to certain kinds of Christianity in many ways."
BTS - You have an admirably balanced perspective.

One day we will all reincarnate as gladiators but don't get too excited - there is a waiting list.

the article: (i highlighted the part i found interesting.
i have perhaps identified the single most lethal problem facing modern culture.. it has landed upon me once again with an inglorious thump, despite how ive seen it many times previously and merely shrugged it off, ignored its extreme prevalence or merely denied that it was really all that toxic or detrimental to the current state of the world.. i was, i now chillingly confess, dead wrong.. the single most poisonous issue facing the modern world?
"Put simply, it is the ability to dance between all three modes that makes a well-rounded thinker, spirit, human. And it is higher education — particularly in the humanities, though not exclusively — that aims for at least passing fluency in all three levels, so that life, love, God and everything else become dynamic and surprising, never locked into a single rigid, uptight meaning."
That's about as good as it gets. Devotion to any extreme leads to imbalance. We can’t change the world, we can only change ourselves.
ok....i am trying to go inactive to fade.
however all my family is in, except for one relative.
i cannot move away.
You are in an impossible place. Leaving always causes pain, often for many years. Even so, you have to be true to yourself, you have your whole life ahead - and it is your life. Direct confrontation is not always the best way forward. Your family may cope better if they accept your choices a little at a time. Hope things work out for you.
